Work from Sowenna, Tolcarne, Fistral and Rock brighten up these tables and the hanging display.

Post 16 completed the lovely Mother Nature inspired pictures and doughnut art.  The bright coloured printing was completed by Eden class.

We have displayed some lovely under the sea art from Sennen and 3D art in the form of jars and paper flower art made by Crofty class.

Tehidy class art was hung across the back of the display and Mylor's work brightened the table.

We are so impressed by the students progress this year from not knowing how to paddle to being proficient and confident to race through the water on a kayak; learning how to pull in the sails to catch the wind and go faster as well as use a tiller to steer the boat

The Barbarians had generously agreed to fund a school eye gaze that can be used to support requests for individual devices and make our lessons as inclusive as possible.

Some of the Barbarians had a go on some of the games themselves, quickly realising how much concentration and stamina is needed when using an eye gaze.

The visit was a great success for both parties, giving the Barbarians a chance to witness first hand the power of their fund raising, and giving the school a chance to thank them for the hard work and effort that they put in over the  season,  continuing the true spirit of barbarian rugby, supporting children’s charities in Cornwall.

The group bought in a polling, voting slips and a ballot box, allowing students to experience what they can expect at a polling station when they go to vote.

In class, students learned what a manifesto is and the kinds of things that they might hear spoken about in the run-up to the general election.

They debated ideas and chose the things that they thought were most important as issues that they would like our politicians to address.

During the lead up to the election, the group spoke to 125 adults and young people, including some of our friends from Pencalenick School.  Most importantly, this had an effect on voter numbers, shown in this picture of our very own Liddy proudly casting her vote at her local polling station!

The experience allowing students to work with staff and friends outside of their class groups, as well as learning to take instruction directly from the professional artists leading the project.

The project was a huge success, with students experiencing how movement and mark making can combine.  All students who took part had a great time and we look forward to being able to work with Shallal Art again in the near future.
